e-Resources Usage Policy

SYSTEMATIC DOWNLOADING OF E-RESOURCES IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
  1. Electronic resources such as e-journals, e-databases made available by the Central Library, NIT, Hamirpur for academic use only.
  2. These resources can be searched, browsed and material may be downloaded and printed as single copies of articles however downloading or printing of an entire issue or a volume of one or more journals (called systematic downloading) is strictly prohibited.
  3. Use of robots, spiders or intelligent agents to access, search and/or systematically download from these resources is also prohibited.
  4. Please be aware that systematic downloading will cause the publisher to block to the entire community of users @ NIT, Hamirpur from accessing these resources.

The general principles for using e-Resources are as under:

  • Viewing, downloading, copying, printing and saving a copy of search results.
  • Viewing, downloading, copying, printing and saving individual articles.
  • Using e-resources for scholarly, educational or scientific research, teaching, private study and clinical purposes.
  • Sending a copy of an article to another authorized user (i.e. Faculty, Students or Staff of NIT, Hamirpur).
  • Posting the URL to the publisher's version of the article on a class website (publisher links will allow only authorized users access).
  • Use of robots or intelligent agents to do systematic, bulk or automatic downloading is not permitted.
  • Systematic downloading or printing of entire journal issues or volumes, or large portions of other e-resources is not permitted.
  • Using e-resources for commercial gain is not permitted (i.e. reselling, redistributing or republishing licensed content).
  • Transmitting, disseminating or otherwise making online content available to unauthorized users (i.e. sending to mailing lists or electronic bulletin boards) is not permitted.
  • Posting the publisher's version or PDF of an article to an open class website is not permitted (instead, post the URL to the article which will allow only authorized users access).

It provides Full text of every article ever published by the Association for Computing Machinery and bibliographic citations from major publishers in computing.

ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers)

ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers)

Founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME is the premier professional membership organization for more than 127,000 mechanical engineers and associated members worldwide. ASME also conducts one of the world's largest technical publishing operations in the world, offering thousands of titles including some of the profession's most prestigious journals, conference proceedings, and ASME Press books.

Consortium for educational Communication

The Consortium for Educational Communication popularly known as CEC is one of the Inter University Centres set up by the University Grants Commission of India. It has been established with the goal of addressing the needs of Higher Education through the use of powerful medium of Television along with the appropriate use of emerging Information Communication Technology (ICT). Realizing the potential and power of television to act as means of Educational Knowledge dissemination, UGC started the Countrywide Classroom Programmes in the year 1984. For production of such programmes Media Centres were set up at 6 Universities. Subsequently CEC emerged in 1993 as a nodal agency to coordinate, guide & facilitate such Educational production at the National level. Today 21 Media Centres are working towards achieving this goal under the umbrella of CEC.

IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)

IEEE publishes nearly a third of the world’s technical literature in electrical engineering, computer science, and electronics. This includes approximately 180 transactions, journals, and magazines published annually. In cooperation with John Wiley and Sons, Inc., IEEE also produces technical books, monographs, guides, and textbooks. IEEE journals are consistently among the most highly cited in electrical and electronics engineering, telecommunications, and other technical fields. The IEEE Xplore Digital Library contains more than 3.5 million documents from IEEE and IEEE journals, transactions, magazines, letters, conference proceedings, and active IEEE standards.

ISID (Institute for Studies in Industrial Development)

The Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID), successor to the Corporate Studies Group (CSG), is a national-level policy research organization in the public domain and is affiliated to the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). Developing on the initial strength of studying India's industrial regulations, ISID has gained varied expertise in the analysis of the issues thrown up by the changing policy environment. SpringerLink is the world's most comprehensive online collection of scientific, technological and medical journals, books and reference works. SpringerLink offers electronic and printed literature from Springer-Verlag, a preeminent scientific publisher with a reputation for excellence spanning more than 150 years. It also offers the work of a growing roster of publishers, including Urban and Vogel, Steinkopff, and Birkhäuser.

Taylor and Frances Online

Online access to journal content of Taylor and Frances is available via Taylor and Francis Online; multidisciplinary online platform. Created in collaboration with librarians, researchers and scholars, the platform hosts journal and reference work content, allowing user to locate vital resources and stay ahead with updates on the latest developments in his/her field.

Web of Science

Web of Science (previously known as (ISI) Web of Knowledge) is an online subscription-based scientific citation indexing service maintained by Thomson Reuters that provides a comprehensive citation search. It gives access to multiple databases that reference cross-disciplinary research, which allows for in-depth exploration of specialized sub-fields within an academic or scientific discipline

Wiley 100 e-Journals : List of 100 Wiley e-Journals

Wiley offers an exceptional portfolio of over 8 million articles from 1,600 journals. Half of which are published in partnership with prestigious international scholarly and professional societies, however, most of the journals published by Wiley are related to Medical Science.
